2nd Child Syndrome Already....

So, I'm already 21 weeks and this is only my first post on our blog for this little baby. I feel a tad guilty for starting this so late, but between having an incredibly active 15 month old, getting ready to move, and working on getting my masters finished before I have two little ones around, getting a blog post has moved to the VERY bottom of my list of things to do.

So...moving on, things have been crazy here. We're working on getting this house ready to rent out, fixing odds and ends, cleaning it incredibly thoroughly, making a decent amount of trips to Goodwill...the usual when it comes to moving. We have a house set to rent in Georgia...or really Alabama. We'll be heading down to Ft. Benning mid November (movers come to pack this house Nov. 7th), but we're renting a house in Ft. Mitchell, AL, on the west side of Benning. Things are moving so quickly...I know the movers are going to be here before I know it!

Where we're going after Ft. Benning is still up in the air. We were all bust positive it was going to be Redstone Arsenal in Hunstville, AL, but due to course dates changing that's not happening anymore. I'm a bit bummed, but knew it was always a possibility with the military being unpredictable as always. So as of now it's looking like we will be in Colorado Spring, CO (my pick) or an hour north of Santa Barbra, CA at Vandenburg AFB. Once Glenn sees what jobs are available where, he will be able to make more of a decision.

Ok, onto the fun, exciting baby stuff! Which I will divulge via the survey thing I used to do when I was pregnant with William.

How far along? 21 weeks
Maternity clothes? Yep, I still have some regular shirts that work and even some jeans. I'm definitely carrying higher then I did with Will since there is no way any of me jeans would button at this point in time with him.
Stretch marks? Just the few that my lovely son gave me in the last two days before he came looking more prominent.
Sleep: Ugh, I miss it. I can't even seem to sleep in on the weekends anymore. I guess it's my body's way of getting me ready for William.

Best moment this/last month: Finding out we're having a lovely little girl.

Movement: Yep. She moves a decent amount at night, so far she doesn't go crazy in the morning like her brother did. Glenn's even been able to feel her a few times.
Food cravings: None really
Gender: A sweet as spice little girl
Labor Signs: No, thank goodness!
Belly Button in or out? Still in, but one side is starting to get pushed out
Wedding rings on or off? Still on, and this time I'm putting them in an incredibly safe place when they don't fit anymore!
What I miss: Being able to move or turn quickly without getting sharp ligament stretch pains randomly
What I am looking forward to: Not pregnancy related, but taking Will trick or treating for the first time
Weekly Wisdom: Moving, having a 15 month old, and doing a grad program really takes it out of a pregnant lady!
Milestones: Half way mark!

8 months...and feeling it!

So I am currently on spring break (only 1 more day left though). Glenn was able to take some days off and take a bit of a spring break as well. We went down to Myrtle Beach Fri-Wed, had a great time, went back to NC for Glenn to work Thursday and Friday, then back to the beach for the weekend. While Glenn was at work I got busy painting William's nursery a light green. I will post pictures of it once we have the nursery back together and such. Painting ended up killing my body, even though I took plenty of breaks etc., but right now my hip joints are killing me, and pretty much every muscle in my body is sore. I could have waited until Glenn came home to help me, but I'm stubborn and couldn't wait. But, hey, I got it done!

My best friend who I met in college, taught next to for a year, then she moved to VA, then to KS(army life), came and visited me last week! She also brought my "niece", Hailey, who is now 11 months old, but I had not seen her since she was 2 weeks old! She is such a cutie pie and a little ham! She had a blast with the dogs and Glenn now has a new best friend :) We had a great time catching up and spending time with old friends, it made me realize how much I miss her :(

I had a doctors appointment yesterday, he is still head down, and heart beat is good. I talked to my midwife about stopping work in about two weeks. She said that would be fine, I have end of grade testing coming up, a lot of stressful stuff, am constantly exhausted, and am not nearly as mentally or physically prepared for his arrival as I would like to be. So at 34 weeks, I will be officially DONE working until who knows when, whoo hoo!

Here is a picture of Hailey and I while she was visiting

Here I am at the beach today (my hair is looking kinda crazy after a couple of hours at the beach)

How far along? 32 weeks 2 days

Maternity clothes? Some of my maternity clothes are even tight now

Stretch marks? none....*knocks on wood*

Sleep: Ugh, I miss it. I can't even seem to sleep in on the weekends anymore. I guess it's my body's way of getting me ready for William.

Best moment this/last month: This has nothing to do with being pregnant, but seeing my best friend and her little girl after 10 months away from each other.

Movement: Yep, he enjoys having his legs take turns kicking me, think along the lines of his riding a bike, but with no actual bike.

Food cravings: None, just have to many small meals.

Gender: Still boy as far as I know

Labor Signs: nope, haven't even felt any Braxton Hicks either.

Belly Button in or out? Um....neither...flat/non-existent

Wedding rings on or off? They are now off :( With the recent heat wave and swelling happening at the end of the day they were getting mighty tight. I bought a pretty flower ring to replace them for now, so at least my finger don't feel naked throughout the day.

What I miss: sleeping through the night, I feel like that's going to be something I'm going to miss for a while.

What I am looking forward to: My work and family/friends baby showers

Weekly Wisdom: Painting a room while pregnant really takes it out of you!

Milestones: Getting to 8 months

Wow...Less then 10 weeks!

As of today, I have 9 weeks and 6 days to go until my due date. I had a doctors appointment today (I have them every two weeks now). William's heartbeat was right on track, he is already head down, and now instead of measuring a week ahead, I'm measuring a week behind, so I'm not putting too much stock into the whole measuring of the belly thing. The fact that I have less then ten weeks is just crazy to me, it's quickly becoming quite a reality that I am going to be responsible for a little baby. Glenn and I are both very excited and ready for the challenge and change though.

We OFFICIALLY have his name hammered out and in stone, the first name has not changed, it will still be William, but the middle name is going to be Charles, which is also Glenn's middle name. So he will be William Charles Frye :)

My best friend is coming into town on Monday with her dog (our dogs' best friend) and her daughter who is 10 1/2 months old and my "niece". I have not seen either of them since June when she was just 2 weeks old. Needless to say, I am BEYOND excited! It will be Glenn's semi-practice run with a baby, although not quite the same as a new born. It will also be a good trial run for the dogs, they have been around small children and have done fine, but never around one that couldn't walk before. I am really hoping they behave themselves.

Here is a picture from last weekend at the beach, I was 29 weeks and 3 days. I am definitely feeling/getting bigger and everything is becoming more difficult from sleeping, turning over, leaning over...the list could go on and on :-/

3rd Trimester!

So I am now officially in my 3rd and LAST trimester. The 2nd trimester had it's ups and downs and pains, but mainly new and exciting happenings. It flew by much, MUCH faster then the 1st trimester, but then again, that's not super surprising considering I felt nauseous for pretty much all of it, plus some of the 2nd trimester. I only have 79 more days until his due date, which sounds crazy soon to me!

My parents and sister just came to visit this past weekend, we had a great time! The weather really turned out good and cooperated with us. Saturday we went to the botanical gardens for their annual open house and their grand opening of some new, gorgeous buildings. On Sunday we went out for brunch on Ft. Bragg then went to a small, local zoo that has mainly rescue animals. I got a hug from a monkey, got to pet a wolf cub, some goats, got to see a tiger cub, bears, and a whole bunch of other animals. Adrienne said her favorite were the camels. :) Dad had to leave Sunday afternoon to go to a job near Charlotte, but Mom and Adri were about to stay until Tuesday morning. Monday I took off work and we were about to go see Glenn get promoted to Captain, it was a great ceremony and they even involved mom and Adri. I'm so proud of him, he does such great work at his job and his superiors actually recognize it and reward him for it. Then Mom and I went up to Raleigh for a chiropractic appointment for me to hopefully help with my hips and back.

I did have a Drs appointment on Friday and had to have my glucose test, iron tested, and had to have blood drawn. I passed my glucose test (don't have gestational diabetes, yay!), my iron level is normal, and I didn't even almost pass out getting my blood taken. I have gained a normal amount of weight, William is doing good, heartbeat is around 150bmp and he's still measuring a week ahead...so maybe he'll come a week early?

I don't have a good "belly shot" this time, but here's a pic from the zoo.

How far along? 28 weeks 6 days

Maternity clothes? Haha...I can't even wear my own t-shirts anymore.

Stretch marks? still going strong on none!

Sleep: Wish I could get more then I do, but naps are wonderful.

Best moment this/last month: Getting into my 3rd trimester and my parents being able to feel/see him move.

Movement: Oh yes...he's starting to migrate up into my ribs/lungs every now and then...it's pretty uncomfortable.

Food cravings: Still none

Gender: Boy...I hope that hasn't changed!

Labor Signs: nope, which is fine, not time for that yet!

Belly Button in or out? In...I guess? it's more flat then anything/

Wedding rings on or off? On

What I miss: Hmm...there are a lot of things, can't pick just one.

What I am looking forward to: At this point in time...spring break!

Weekly Wisdom: Just bc I'm pregnant does not mean you can poke my belly like I'm the Pillsbury doughboy

Milestones: Hitting the 3rd trimester

6 Months Down....3 1/2 ish to go!

So I am officially at the 6 month mark, as of Thursday. Glenn asked me why his due date isn't the beginning of June then if I'm supposed to be pregnant for 9 months....I had to inform him it was more then nine months, it was 40 weeks. Wish it was only 9 months :) Anyways, things are going good here, we've been buying things for William and will hopefully be painting his nursery sometime soon. I had a doctors appt Friday and was able to hear his heartbeat, twice, the first time it was 158bpm and the second time it was in the 150s, which is perfectly normal and healthy. I am measuring a week ahead, which is fine. Here's the monthly survey. Love you all! (Oh, also, I've had some people ask, and we are registered at Target and Amazon)

Here's a pic from last week at 23 weeks 2 or 3 days, can't remember if it was taken Sat or Sun.

How far along? 24 wks 2 days

Maternity clothes? Oh yes, they are a must, Old Navy Maternity and I have been best friends!

Stretch marks? still none

Sleep: I love it, but tend to flip over a lot in the night, it's still good though.

Best moment this/last month: being able to actually feel my stomach and tell where/how he is laying

Movement: Yep, pretty sure he's going to be a night owl like his mom and dad...joy :-/

Food cravings: Not really

Gender: Still a boy as far as I know

Labor Signs: thank goodness, no

Belly Button in or out? Still in, but barely

Wedding rings on or off? On

What I miss: My hip not hurting

What I am looking forward to: Painting the nursery, putting together the bedding stuff to see the nursery finally start to come together.

Weekly Wisdom: Teaching from a rocking chair is much better then standing up!

Milestones: Being able to feel where he is, it's an amazing thing!

And it's a....

Boy! We had an ultrasound yesterday at 20 wks 1 day and our little bean showed us that he is a boy. We are very excited about this news, and I'm proud of myself because I've been saying for a while I felt it was a boy, but nobody around me seemed to believe me. The doctor said that everything on and in our little boy looked perfect! We got some decent pictures, but when he tried to do a 3-d one of his face, it didn't work out super great because our little man was cuddling away from us. The doctor did the best he could though and got us a profile pic. We do have a name, and unless something changes, his name will be William Maddox. William, after Freddy on my dad's side and Maddox was a boy name we both actually agreed on. Here are some pics of my belly bump(last weekend at 19 wks 3 days) and our ultrasound pics. Enjoy!

How far along? 20 wks 2 days

Maternity clothes? Pants, YES! Shirts, not yet, but I def can't wear all of my old shirts.

Stretch marks? nope :)

Sleep: naps are wonderful, sleeping through the night is a hit or miss thing now.

Best moment this/last month: finding out we're having a boy

Movement: Oh yes! He's pretty active at night.

Food cravings: Nothing really crazy or memorable

Gender: all B-O-Y!

Labor Signs: none, thank goodness

Belly Button in or out? Still in, but on it's way out

What I am looking forward to: Getting the nursery together now that we know what to buy

Weekly Wisdom: Prenatal massages are a MUST

Milestones: Felt him for the 1st time at 16wks, Glenn was able to feel him last week at 19 wks, and of course finding out what we're having.

Holiday Time Update

I hope this update finds everyone enjoying this holiday season. I have been out of school/work for a week and a half and Glenn also took leave, so he hasn't had to worry (more or less) about work or go in at all. It's been an amazing break from the Army! My parents and Adri came up for Christmas and we had a great time, along with a great 7 or so inches of snow the day after Christmas. We are planning on going down to GA tomorrow to spend New Years with my parents and hopefully see a few friends.

We had a doctors appt today, and everything looks and sounds good. The heart beat was around 15o bmp, which is perfectly healthy. I am a day shy of 15 weeks and definitely beginning to show, I need to go have a shopping day full of maternity clothes. We have another appointment on Feb 4th for the in-depth ultra sound and to find out the gender. This month and a week is going to drag by, Glenn and I are getting very anxious to find out what we're having and nail down a name.

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts, keep them going! :)
